Book Review of “Christmas Brides” by Suzanne Enoch, Alexandra Hawkins, Elizabeth Essex & Valerie Bowman

multiauthorsOne Hot Scot”  by Suzanne Enoch

I was disappointed in Suzanne Enoch’s “One Hot Scot” story, I have read her books in the past and really quite enjoyed them. I found that the plot did not revolve around  “Christmas,” which I had expected.  The story also seemed to drag on, and lack any Christmas feel.

“Once Upon a Christmas Scandal”  by Alexandra Hawkins

Lady Ellen is going to cause quite the scandal this Christmas, but first she must try and stay out of harms way. Will Lady Ellen be married by Christmas, or will harm come to the Netherley’s home just in time for Christmas?

Once again Alexandra Hawkins delivers up a novel full of suspense and romance wrapped into the perfect gift for Christmas.

Book Review of “Solitary Fire” By Eve Lestrange

EbooksChristian Lafage is still learning the black arts, and is on her way to becoming a Master Sorceress. Christina almost did not have her chance be a Master Sorceress, until she was sentenced to death by hanging. If it was not for Lucien saving her life, she would not be here, and for that Christina surrendered her soul to him. Now that Christina has a second chance at life, she has now reconciled with her birth mother, Madame Duchamp.  Madame Duchamp knows Christina’s powers are developing very quickly, and she is on her way to becoming a Master Sorceress. Christina also has her lover Richard back, and everything is going well for Christina Lafage.

Madame Duchamp decides that Christina should work on her studies in the black arts, and thinks it would be a good idea if they traveled to Vienna. While in Vienna Christina starts to neglect her studies, and would rather attend social functions and partake in night life activities. Christina’s promise to her mother and Lucien is not being upheld, she promised she would focus on her studies and learn everything from her mother. Madame Duchamp is asked by a new client if she would like to accompany him back to his castle, where she and Christina would have endless nobles who would require their services. Madame Duchamp knows this is exactly what her daughter Christina needs to focus her back on her studies of becoming a Master Sorceress.

Christina’s journey to Hungary will changer her life in ways that she could never imagine. Christina’s relationship with her lover Richard will be tested, and Christina’s loyalty to Lucien will be more then she could ever hoped for. Christian will also realize that her power is even more powerful than even the best Sorceress, and that would be her mother, Madame Duchamp. Christina will also uncover a deep secret that Lucien and her mother have been keeping from her, but is Christina ready for the truth of what this secret entales?

I have been waiting to read the second book of Eve Lestrange’s novel to Widdershins. I loved this books, and was fascinated with Christina’s journey towards the left handed path. I was also quite shocked at what the secret that Lucien and Madame Duchamp were keeping from Christina. Eve Lestrange writes a spellbound novel of sorcery and occultism, that will ignite the pages of “Solitary Fire”. I look forward to reading book three of Eve Lestranges.
